Xiaomi Invests in New Semiconductor Firm
An affiliated company of Xiaomi added external investment on Monday. The newly-added enterprise is Zhuhai Xinshijie Semiconductor Technology, with an investment ratio of 15%.
According to Chinese business inquiry platform Qichacha, the semiconductor firm was established on June 23, 2022, with a registered capital of 200 million yuan ($29.9 million). Its business scope includes the design, manufacturing and sales of integrated circuits, as well as special equipment for semiconductor devices.
BYD Obtains $60M New Energy Industrial Site in Shenzhen
A new energy industrial site in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen spanning over 550,000 square meters was sold on Monday to Shenzhen BYD Auto Industry Company Limited for 403 million yuan ($60.3 million).
100,000th Leapmotor Vehicle Rolls off Production Line
Zhu Jiangming, founder and Chairman of Leapmotor, issued an open letter on Tuesday, saying that its 100,000th production vehicle has recently rolled off of its production line. This also means that Leapmotor has now become another new energy manufacturer after the likes of NIO, XPeng, Li Auto and Hozon Auto, to reach the 100,000 unit milestone.
Battery Firm Sunwoda Plans IPOs in London and Switzerland
Battery manufacturer Sunwoda released an announcement on Tuesday saying that the company plans to issue global depository receipts (GDRs) and apply for IPOs on the Swiss Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange. The GDRs take newly issued China A-shares – RMB-denominated equity shares – as its basic securities.
China Successfully Launches Gaofen 12-03 Satellite
At 23:46 on June 27, China successfully launched the Gaofen 12-03 satellite, aboard a Long March-4C carrier rocket, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China.
The satellite will be mainly used in a variety of fields including land surveys, urban planning, rural land rights confirmation, road network design, crop yield estimation and disaster relief. This launch marks the 425th flight mission of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
Alibaba Obtains L4 Automated Driving Test License in China
Deqing, Zhejiang Province became the first city in China to issue open road test licenses for L4 unmanned automated driving trucks, and Alibaba announced that it had obtained one of the first batch of two licenses on Monday. An unmanned truck named “Damanlv,” which has been developed by Alibaba‘s DAMO Academy, will carry out road tests in designated areas in the city, including some high-speed sections.
Tencent Games Unveils Over 40 Products and Projects at SPARK 2022
Tencent Games introduced 44 products and projects for the Chinese market, along with several concepts that harness game-related technology for cultural, industrial and scientific research, during its “SPARK 2022” conference held on Monday.
This conference has been divided into three sections: “New Technology Exploration,” “New Product Experience,” and “More New Values.”
